I will try and post some pics . I don't glue my back strip into one piece and plan the joint under a brace. I use a straight edge to line up the reinforcement strip and then glue it in using my go bar deck. I use 2 methods to open the slot for the back braces , one I use the razor blades and the other I use my inlay tool and rout out the opening.
Before I do that I like to radius my strips . Often I inlay the back strips for design appeal . Have a great Holiday guys
