I like the stripey look to the top too....this one was sinker, correct?
I think the bloodwood is going to look great against that top.

Yes, A bit blingy:). I am usally more of a minimalist but I need to learn something each guitar; So this time it is playing with pearl. My wife, a designer, is talking me into ebony for the binding. She liked the red rosette playing against the red in the sinker redwood, but thought adding another slightly off red would not work so well. We shall see.

It is a wise man that listens to his wife (well, most of the time anyway). I'll have to say ebony does sound pretty good.

David, I agree. The more I look the more I see she is right. Ebony binding also ties in the fret board and bridge. In any case if I take her advice she will feel some buy in to the time I spend in the garage.

I try to include wifey in the process/decision making (or at least let her think that), that way my hobby doesn't become a widow maker!

Continuing to make some progress today. I have all of the braces cut out and thicknessed, Back braces are glued on. The end block is glued on the sides. I also cut and glued on the x-brace to the top.

Most important of all I discovered that I have the tone bar set for a left handed guitar BEFORE I glued it on:)

Looking good. Nice catch on the brace. You wouldnt want to have to remove it after the fact.
