Wow!! I am very surprised Ken. For some reason I thought you were an old bastard! You even have all your hair. I need to step up my video game now. I didnt know we were allowed to sing entire songs! I was just giving a little sample with my song.
Back to the woodshed I go.
Seriously though Ken, it looks and sounds great. You should be proud and your sister should be very happy.
Can we see a close up of the port? I can not make out a script J anywhere.

Re: Black Beauty
I thought I had some good ones of the port, and was going to post them on my website. The site is not cooperating, apparently feeling pretty neglected this last year or so, and the pictures seem to have stayed on spring break. I'll snap some new ones tonite, as the guitar goes to my sis tomorrow nite. I played it a lot last night, and have a little adjusting to do in both the saddle and the truss rod, and then it will be as good as its gonna get. THanks again for the kind words, all.
So what's next? Kevin, you'll be glad to know I am closing up the 'cuba this week. Had to split the back apart and redo it. It curled the wrong way, and my kid bumped it, and cracked about 3/16" off the center . I scrapped the bracing, removed the center strip, put in a new wider one, which let me joint the edges past the crack, and will need new braces. Not my kids fault, I had moved it to take some pictures of Black Beauty, and wasn't careful where I put it.
Also gluing up the fingerboard & Neck on the Curly mango. That one should be completely finished in a month, with the 'cuba to follow mid summer. Hoping to finish the box on a padauk 12 string by october, and maybe rework the original Padauk OM that was damaged before the auction....have those finished this winter.
Strange how the urge comes back once overcome some of the major frustrations in a project, but I am excited to really be moving on these again.

Re: Black Beauty
Okay, I have a few more pics I took outside in natural light...makes a big difference!
Better shot of the soundhole, and some other good ones too. I'll have a bunch up on the website if I can get the online editor to work. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: Black Beauty
Outstanding, with the black you better send a polishing cloth with the guitar. I do like the reflection in the last photo, nicly done.
