Thanks Ken for sharing the finishing process with us. I am no where near this stage yet but I think about it often. It would be nice if it was in it's own thread, might make it easier to reference when I get to that stage. I really love that neck, I like curly maple, in fact I like radically figured woods in general, I know some people aren't big fans of figure, but I am.

Ken,

I would like to see a post on your finishing process. I have some em6000 and zpoxy and think that I will spray the parlor guitar I am working on with it.

I am always impressed with how the finish looks on your guitar.

I'll hold off on posting more of the finishing process here and do a new thread under Finishing that contains the photos and a description of my process. Not much new to show anyway until I get it buffed out and ready to play!

Thanks! Kevin, Target claims about 100 hours. I usually wait a week. I'm giving this one 10 days. I can't wait any longer than that as the guitar needs to be done by March 28th for submission to my company's art show.

Got the git buffed out today. Turned out nice and glassy! Discovered though when I picked up the neck to level it that the top back corner had gotten dinged somehow and chipped out a piece of finish about an 1/8" in diameter. Bummer. Not quite sure how that happened. I certainly don't recall hitting it. But I should be able to make a transparent repair. I am supposed to show the guitar in a week, so I may have to show it as is and repair it after the art show. I snapped a few pix with the neck just sitting on the guitar so I could post a couple on this thread. I now need to glue the bridge on and set it up. Won't get any more done today as my wife and I are heading into Ann Arbor to see the Fab Faux this evening. I'll post more and better pix when I have it all setup.
