I'm all for the evidence as well, though I do like to know the 'why' as well. :-)
I guess I won't go further and ask why we are not as concerned about the tone bars and the finger braces, which could also come loose - or has the evidence pointed to a real negative effect on tone/responsiveness when these are inletted?
Not trying to be a smart *** - I'm really curious.
Thanks

No Tony, it must be beyond me. :-)
Of course they are structural. They are part of the structure. You would not leave them off the guitar, surely? (Sorry I called you surely). Would inletting them HARM the tone or the structure or the responsiveness?
I don't mean to quibble. These are honest questions. I think I can understand the answers when they come. :-)
