I think that sycamore might have been the stuff that LMI used to sell for their light-colored bindings. Can anybody recommend a source for it? Or for the non-figured mapl
Classical builders use european sycamore for bindings pretty regular; google can help you there.

I don't know of anyone making/selling quartersawn american sycamore like in my picture.

How much do you need/want?
Probably enough for two guitars and two mandolins.

So, 2 guitars, 8 36" strips, 2 mandolins, 4 more strips, call it 15 pc so you have a couple spares.

Give me some dimensions and let me look around the shop.

I'll do that. (Sorry about the multiple posts earlier, but I was having issues with the web site.)

I've got some plain Maple and some lightly curly Maple boards I could slice up and sand for you. The curly bent fine in my bender. I'm up here in Forest Ranch above Chico so lots closer than Chuck is. PM me your phone # if you're interested.

That fellow in Chico might be handier for me. I've sent him my phone number. But if that doesn't work out, the size i'm looking for is 0.080" x 0.250". That's what I usually use. In fact, I'd like the sycamore anyway, just to see what the difference is and whether it really was the stuff I was getting from LMI.
