Hi just wanted to introduce myself. I’m Dean Derby from Chemainus BC and started building about a year ago. As a recently retired carpenter I needed something to fill my time and decided to take the plunge and started looking into building a guitar. I have recently completed my fourth and seem to be hooked. I have had a lot of of support from someone you might know. I met Bruce from Stray Feathers at a local jam and he’s been a great mentor.
Looking forward to reading about everyone’s triumphs and struggles.
Cheers
Dean

Welcome Dean! Dean has jumped into lutherie with both feet. He surprised me by how quickly and efficiently he works (he didn't learn that from me . . .) . And in case he is shy about sharing, I will tell forum members that he is already trying "new" things, like his two all-Douglas-fir OMs. They're fine guitars. Bruce W.

Greetings Dean, I just signed in for the first time in about 4 or maybe 5 years. I had completed 3 guitars and had # 4 and a #5 started when life got in the way. I had a pretty good learning curve back then and trying to remember stuff and make the building more a part of my life now that I can. See you around.

Welcome, Dean,
I'm starting much later than you. I have a kit, studying, and am acquiring tools. I really enjoy this forum, and have gotten some great support and information from Bruce and others here. It sounds like you're off to a flying start. Keep it up.
