Frank Ford of Gryphon Strings passed away
Frank Ford, the co-founder of Gryphon Stringed Instruments, passed away Sunday afternoon after a brief illness. He was loved by those who were fortunate to know him and work beside him and he was respected by those in the wider luthier community who benefited from his generous spirit. He will be missed.

This is sad news indeed. His site frets.com was indisputably one of the best things I've ever been referred to as a neglectful guitar player. I hope that it continues to live on.

What John said. I doubt if there's anybody doing lutherie for more than a couple of years who hasn't bookmarked Frank's web site. Here's hoping that somebody will keep it going as a resource.
