Thanks Tony, I was hoping to hear some words of encouragement. I'm on hold now while I wait for some tools to come in for radiusing the rim before I start kerfing. I'm using the down-time to build my hygrometer/psychrometer thingie. Living down here in south Louisiana humidity is "really" an issue!
Pardon my ignorance Tony, I am 50 years old and have "not" lived a sheltered life, however I have never heard the phrase "Bob's your uncle" maybe it has to do with my geographcal location. I kinda figured that it meant something like "there you have it" by the context that you used it. I was really just trying to be a smart @$$ when I asked "who's Bob" Thanks a lot Tony!

I had to look it up the first time I read it here, but again, due to the context, I figured the same thing you did. And that is an accurate guess. I added the link to wikipedia in my reply when you asked who Bob was.
Another smart ass, eh? We should get along just fine then David!
Have you read ANY of my older posts? Smart ass is what I do best!

for a good time, click on the 'members' link at the top of the page and read through Tony's posts! You don't even need the context of the thread(s) some are just downright hilarious.

Oh Tony, I hadn't noticed, do you post a lot on this forum? ha-ha. Yes darren, I spend a lot of time reading over the various posts on all the topics and have even been browsing the archives. It may not seem like it from the content of my posts but I really have learned a lot from this forum. I'm not sure if I would even be able to build a guitar if not for this forum (the jury is still out as I have not yet built one). As much as I'm trying to screw-up, you guys are keeping me in check. Yes Tony, you and I should get along just fine, or bump heads, either way it should be lots of fun. Thanks guys!

Do I post a lot? Not really. I dont bump heads David. I am too easy going for that.
Just keep this in mind to tell people when you are building your guitar and one of your family members says it looks hard:
"Building guitars looks hard, but its actually a lot harder than it looks!"

I read that somewhere...cant recall where to give credit to the guy who said it though. Probably someone at the OLF.
You cant screw up so bad that we cant help you fix it. Just dont do anything if you are unsure!! Come here for a smart a$$ answer from me, then wait for the people who know what they are talking about to reply!!

Thanks Tony, Good suggestion not to do anything if I'm not sure, instead, post and ask questions. Be careful what you suggest, I might very well end up holding this forum hostage. Although I put a very high value on what the pros say (for obvious reasons), I also like to hear from people with only a few builds under thier belt as they are not so far removed from where I'm at. That quote about building guitars being harder than it looks, I saw it just last night on AGF, I checked it out for the first time for about 20 mins, don't like it as much as this one though. BTW, I don't remember the name of the person who posted that quote either, I wouldn't know 'em even if I did.
