doing necks I prefer a satin on the neck barrel and gloss headstock
Typically I spray a coat about every hour for 8 to 10 coats and let set about 10 days
level off and shoot 2 -3 coats of satin and do nothing the satin should self level
the gloss I will relevel and then buff up.

There are many ways to do this but keep it simple in that it isn't so much what you put on as it is what you let on
