HHG Denature
Does anyone know at what temperature hot hide glue denatures? I know optimum temp is 145°, but when does it actually start to denature?

Thank you John. I figured as much. My hhg got up to 172° and was still rising for some reason, and I threw it out. It may be time that I buy another pot.

My daughter uses a leg-wax heating pot she got on the internet for $10, I believe she said.

Lol. Thanks Ed. I've been using a rival hot water pot. I cut the lid so I can suspend a jar in the water. It has a nice rheostat temp adjustment, and I can usually keep the glue at 143-147°. But a little metal piece came off, and I'm sure it was the temp sensor. I've glued it back a couple of times, but it's time to replace it.ruby@magpage.com wrote:My daughter uses a leg-wax heating pot she got on the internet for $10, I believe she said.
