Hello to the bloodwood bindings being installed.

So I got the bindings glued on this week and scraped and sanded it all down
today. It turned out pretty good. The suggestion to thin the binding down saved my bacon on this one. I
backed it up to the BWB purfling with another strip of .020" black fiber, which just gave a little wider black look on the
top and back...looks kind of neat.
My neck heel fits the cutaway pretty good too, I was concerned about that
when planning out the cutaway with the inside neck block and all. I wanted a flush fit at the side, heel and
fretboard, and I got it. Yah!
So here are a few pics of how it turned out and my progress. I have
fretting, machine holes, headstock inlay, heel cap, and a hole to
drill for the end pin jack, and then any touch ups, and it will be ready
for finishing which won't happen until around April I think.

Looks great Kevin! I am jealous to see you working in the garage with the sun warming the driveway. I was happy today, it was 9 degrees outside today, and I still managed to get the garage to 51! The bottom of my potbelly stove was cherry red, so I wont be doin that often. Looks great, can't wait to hear it!

Kevin - I grew up between Modesto and Manteca, didn't really miss the winters there when I lived in Colorado; now in Wi,... yeah I could do with a winter or two in the valley.

Here is an update to the status on this build....oops, crafted guitar!

Since I wrote last and put up the pictures, I have finished the neck; installed the heel cap, refined the neck and heel to the final shape, installed the frets, final thicknessed the head stock, installed my inlay, and drilled the tuning machine holes.
Last Sunday I started the bloodwood bridge, and last night I finished it. Tonight I will postion the bridge with pins.
And then............I can put this one away in its case until April (hopefully) when I'll put up my portable spray booth and do the nitro finish.

I'll put up a couple of pictures with the bridge attached later so you can see how it all turned out....then again in June of the finished guitar (or is that a build) :>)

Kevin, that is a great looking guitar! Looks very well 'crafted' too! You are just a bit ahead of me with my spalted mango. I glued the f/b on the neck last night. I need to fret, do the heel cap, drill the tuning machine holes, and then on to finishing. Oh, I have to make my bridge yet as well. You'll be in the spray booth before me!
