Hi all,
Not sure if this is the right spot for this post but:
I just acquired some bubinga back and side wood, which is about .125" thick. Does anyone have any idea what I should thickness them to? I've been looking around and haven't seen anything specifically pertaining to bubinga thickness, but .08 for the sides and .09 for the back seem to be a general consensus. Any thoughts? Anyone familiar with this wood?
While I'm at it, I haven't purchased wood for the top yet, but was considering redwood or cedar. It will be a 00 14 fret or 000 14 fret, haven't decided yet. Has anyone used these top woods, and have opinions on how they compare to each other?
Thanks a million!
Josh

Re: Back and Sides thickness
I like the sides .075 to .080
backs .095 to .105 depending on stiffness. In bubinga .095 should be fine.
Tops .135 on cedar.
