Why is it sometimes...
one just goes brain dead? I was cutting the channels on my latest build and the rosette thickness was .100", top was at .110" so I wanted to cut the channel a little under .100" and yes I went the other way and cut right through the sound board. Now I have a 4.5" sound hole. Well I was gonna to build a Clarence White/Tony Rice type dred one day so I guess this is it!!

While you're doing it, it makes perfect sense.
I need to be aware of my state of tiredness. Generally I'm good for about two hours of concentrated precision work before I start to lose focus and start getting sloppy. If I notice, and stop for a break, I (usually) avoid doing too many dumb things.

Didn't turn out to bad, I'm actually looking forward to it.

Tim, you've been around for awhile, have you racked your brain enough to see if you can come up with some kind of fix for that to bring it back to tolerances or did somebody spike my cigarettes with more than just tobacco?

Gonna keep it that way. I was gonna do a Tony Rice type guitar anyway, so this is it.David L wrote:Tim, you've been around for awhile, have you racked your brain enough to see if you can come up with some kind of fix for that to bring it back to tolerances or did somebody spike my cigarettes with more than just tobacco?

I want to build one of these too! Just go with it! Love the one Bourgeois built for the Tony Rice benefit! I think they're making a production guitar like it now. Keep the pics coming, would love to see it when finished! Good luck on the build!

Tim: Sorry, but you can't file a patent on that one.....................I invented that a long time ago. Didn't recover though.......I still keep it as a reminder!!!
