Some redwood I resawed last weekend
I got a big old weathered slab from a friend who didn't know what to do with it.
I cut away the split ends and cut it to 10" wide and 24" long and got 4 sets of tops. Could have had 5 sets but I screwed up the first two trying to resaw with the 1/4" blade that was on my saw. Then I put the 1/2" woodslicer on and it cut like butter. The black streaking gives it an organic look, sort of like sinker.
Free is always good!

Nice!
I have a clean chunk of really good looking sequoia from a friend in Fort Bragg. I have been think about re-sawing it (for a couple of years now). The set you are showing might inspire me to try it.

Gosh Tim, its been almost a year and I never saw your post to reply. So sorry.
I don't know if it is sinker. I was a big old plank that a friend gave me that came from a friend of his. For sure stained, and it looks like some of the sinker redwood I've seen.
Haven't used it yet, but I am very happy with the classical I just finished that is EIR with a redwood top. It has a lovely sound.

LOL. It's been so long I forgot I even posted. Started looking at it from the top and my first thought was -"Is that Sinker?" Then reading down further saw my post!
