zip flex perfling

zip flex perfling

has anyone used zip flex with good success?
turns out the zip flex perfling is almost as thick as my sound board will this cause a problem?

I used it a couple of times and it is really cool. One warning is that it has to be glued down at the the final dimension as there is very little to sand. You can not install it proud of the top! In any case you do not want to sand much after you install it and sand back the black filler. If you are using the thin perflings they sell you will still be in the linings or the kerfed linings so you can go deep into the top, I imagine you still want some top left.

Not really any thicker than actual shell from what I remember. I use it and like it a lot. Much quicker than snapping small sections of shell into place.
You never know what you are capable of until you actually try....

I have had no problem with zipflex, found it really easy to install and it looks great.

Sorry my previous comments were for the purflex although I think they hold true for zipflex as well as the shell is thin, although there is a bit you can sand.

Just used it on a top, I'm thinking if it is almost as thick as your top your top is kind of thin, maybe.. Anyway, I use CA glue to attach it and the binding did it almost to the correct height as mentioned above and it worked out well, really simple to install...
