Numero dos......done!!

Post by jcphotog »

This is the guitar I finished just before taking a one-on-one class with Robbie O'Brien (which was amazing). I dropped it off at Jeff Bamburg's for finishing on the way out, and picked it up on the way back. Jeff did a phenomenal job. It was great to meet him and see his workshop as well. As you can see it's not a perfect guitar; in fact it was something of a comedy of errors. I made all the mistakes I didn't make on the first one. But when all is said and done, overall it looks pretty good, and sounds incredible; loud with amazing sustain and clarity.....

J45 Slope style with Carpathian Spruce/Indian Rosewood, Adi braces, with maple bindings from a Bluescreek Kit...

Very very nice. Love the simple rosette and the upside-down bridge. Nice looking wood, too.

Looks real nice, that really is a well proportioned shape too. Great finish.

I'll always love dreads, but the slope shoulder sure does make it a tad more aesthetically pleasing....at least to my eye. They're also supposed to be more comfortable to play, but I really haven't noticed that yet....

Looks great, I do not see the comedy of errors.

It sounds BIG with amazing sustain and tons of headroom, not unlike an adi guitar. Carpathian is supposed to be the same species, and it sure sounds like it. Very responsive as well....
