Let's See Your Shop!

Post by glasalle1 »

Hi Folks,

I finally got my new shop done, and started building again after about 5 months. It's not very big, but I have everything i need ... for now :-):

Main view of benches. Behind me are my 2 Bandsaws and sanders:

I have 2 windows in the shop, with 9.5 ft ceilings:

What I am working on. 1st is my take on a Prairie State Jumbo guitar. Mad RW& Bearclaw Sitka top, with Koa Bindings, maple rosette and Koa/Maple purling trim. 2nd is an OM, with African Hog, Lutz top, and zebrawood rosette/bindings/trim:

Okay, you asked for it..........
This this is the present shape of my shop........a yucky mess, but when I'm done with my current project, it will get all cleaned up and organized again.
I have my saws and go-bar deck on wheels so they get moved out of the way when necessary. The bench on the sawhorses folds down out of the way when I'm not building. It is compact with a lot of stuff in there, but it works. I also make knives in this shop.
Enjoy.

My shop is usually not this clean. If you look toward the back right in the shop photo there are two doors one my dust collection closet the other my vented (spark free fan) paint both.

Here it is, the unofficial online tour.......

The entrance to the dirty underground world of luterie.

At the front of the shop is my main repair bench.

Around from that is most of the power woodworking equipment.

The back room is where most of the actual construction happens.

This is also where the buffer is set up.

And looking back the other direction in the main shop.
