1 3/4 nut with what string spacing at bridge?

My build is going to be my take on the 2012 D18. I'm
looking ahead at nut width and bridge string spacing.
I looked at the Martin website and the specs are
1 3/4 nut width and 2 3/16's bridge string spacing.

If I do the same nut width but use a bridge with 2-1/4
string spacing will that work? And how will it feel
in comparison?

with 1 3/4 nut you can use
2 1/4 or 2 5/16
both will work
2 5/16 was the vintage through saddle
