Making good progress now. Glued braces on the top and shaved them a bit. I decided to omit the "popsicle" or "tongue-depressor" brace near the neck after reading some discussions online about the pros and cons of it. I then glued top to the sides. I was all set to use clamps, but tried putting a foam sheet, then the radius disk, then a bunch of weights. That made a nice tight fit, so I just went with that. Should be able to get the body closed up tomorrow.

Rick,
She is coming along nicely. Great that you had such a good top to rims fit that you could glue it up that way. I've never had one fit good enough to do that. Keep the pics coming.

Yeah, well, I don't think I can do that with the back. It seems to have relaxed a bit and doesn't sit down in the radius disk without a bit of weight. When I fit it to the body it doesn't match the arc sanded into the rim and kerfing. One thing I was thinking of trying is to stick an inflated balloon in the body, that may press the back up flush against the radius disk and make the back fit the rim better. I can then pop the balloon after the glue has dried. It that doesn't work for the trial fit I will use clamps.

Rick,
Yeah, the back is a different animal. Because you have the slop to the neck block, the back braced usually is not going to follow this slope completely, so you have to pull it down with clamps. I use a gobar deck and am able to "clamp" the back down to the neck end of the rims using the gobars. Don't feel like the fit is not good, it is just the nature of the beast.........

OK, finally got the time to glue the back on. Ended up using my go-bar deck and some clamps because I don't have enough go-bars. Will take it out this afternoon and see how it looks!

Ken,
I remember when you built it. Personally it seems daunting to me.
I may have some cash this next year to purchase one. We shall see.....
