Thanks everybody. I enjoy posting here and the community here...while I guess I'm not building kit guitars anymore, I'm by no means building from "scratch" either, nor am I any kind of an expert... but anyhow ...

Here is some other recent progress.

I got some dots inlaid on the fingerboard. These came from stewmac.

Here's the end of the LMI fingerboard, rounded off a little bit. Not yet sure if I want to extend that far over the soundhole.

Here's the tortis pickguard ordered direct from Bloomington. Sad to hear she won't be doing that anymore.

Here's the way the whole ensemble appears together.

This guitar was going to have waverly tuners with ebony buttons. You'll be pleased to hear I used those on my #1, which has become my daily player...

This guitar is going to have waverly tuners with ivoroid buttons:

Here's a headstock template.

And this is the ebony veneer for the headstock along with some letters ordered from Andy DePaule.

Here's an approximation of the finished look, but it won't have my logo in the center of the headstock. I did this with the Martin Custom Shop website.

I neglected to mention that before I installed my binding I watched John's great video about fixing gaps, which was about the most helpful thing I saw to prepare myself mentally for avoiding mishaps, but I still managed to have few tiny ones. I guess I am backwards...when I think about the effort needed to undo or to repair something, it is enough to make we want to spend double the time in advance to avoid any problems.
