I actually used my router table and my Stew Mac bit and bearings to cut the channels.
It was fairly easy.
Here is the final outcome.
Also, I added the inlay picture for the fret board extension. Not perfect but the customer liked it.
I have driven John crazy with questions on the D45 build.

I have learned a lot on this one. I am building this D42 and a D45 at the same time.
I love doing this stuff.
As I said, I talked to John every other day for the last few weeks.
Now a regular HD28 seems easy!

One side was alittle wider at the top. So, I had to open the other side up to match. Somehow I screwed up the line when I scribed it with an exacto blade.
It caught a grain and followed it too far to the right.
