Howdy

Post by wgaspard »

Hello all,

I am a new member and just starting my first build, a StewMac triple 0 kit with mahogany sides (I own a Guild F47 RCE with rosewood sides, so I wanted something totally different).

I just recently took the early retirement package from my employer. I have always wanted to try building an acoustic guitar and I now have the time.

I used to work with wood in a mill shop building door units in Beaumont TX while going to school for electronics. I remember I used to like working with wood and I am hoping I will enjoy this first project.

I went with a kit to start with because I don't have a lot of tools and definitely don't have a lot of confidence for more complicated things like side bending yet.

we prefer any question as we can often learn from others mistakes and observations. We have learned that you must learn from others mistakes , as we can't make them all ourselves

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Don't worry. I am sure I will make more than enough mistakes for everyone to learn from. ;)

And Brian, I looked at your website. Nice touches to the guitars. I like subtle adornments like yours to enhance the looks without overpowering the rest of the guitar.
