Accident

Post by B. Howard »

I wanted to let everyone know that I had an accident Monday afternoon. I got a fingertip caught in the infeed of a piece of equipment. This has resulted in the amputation of a portion of my finger. I am on the mend and should be back to work full steam in a few weeks. I would like to take a moment and remind everyone to think about shop safety, This happened so quick and was a stupid mistake. It shows how a slight lapse of judgement can have some serious effects. Please be careful out there, if it can happen to me it can happen to anyone.

Shop safety is more important that we give it. Glad you are on the mend and thanks for reminding to think and work SAFE.

Oh man Howard, so sorry to hear this. We can never be TOO careful. I was a Safety Manager in a cannery for 7 years and I saw lots of cut fingers. We all will hope you can get back into the shop building again soon.

Get well soon Brian,

Go slow and "zen"! (Well, that's my safety guide. Most accidents on the wood and flesh happen in a rush or routine.)

I am the poster boy for that truism.
