Brace specs

Post by watergunn »

Hi all.

I am working on my 5th build and I am venturing into making my own braces.

I am building a Martin D41. Is there a good reference guide somewhere to the dimensions of the braces?

Also, is there something that shows where the scallops would begin and end on a brace?

Thanks for any guidance.

Thanks for any guidance: Not sure about the bracing on a Martin D-41 but for dreadnaughts in general the Stew-Mac Dread plans are a very good starting point in my opinion. John Hall may be able to offer more specific info.

I had these two pages I scanned on my 'puter. Not sure if they're what you're looking for, but might help you...?
The 1st one is a little hard to read. And the 2nd scan is for a D-18
John would be the one who'd know...
