Electric sanders

Post by Ben-Had »

I have always hand sanded my guitar T/B/S. Does anyone use an electric sander and if so what type do you suggest?

I use a dewalts Random Orbital sander. I really like using it on the back and front I have used on the sides and the neck as well.

On my last guitar I had some 2000 and 6000 grit disks so I even used it to do a quick clean up after leveling the finish.

I would like to switch to a pneumatic, only because it is nicer on the hands, but they use a lot of air and I am not sure my compressor will keep up.

I'd be real happy if one of these was under the Christmas tree.

I agree, but I haven't been that good! I will have to stick with my Porter Cable 5" orbital.
