Peruvian Walnut OM (s)

I just want to start by saying that I am sorry for the lack of photos of this guitar build(s). I am and have never been good at keeping up with that particular aspect of Guitar building process, I do take pics and I document everything on paper and make drawings all the time for myself, but having that camera around in my shop area just does'nt happen that often and when it does I forget to post them. Here are a couple of photos of the OM model that I just finished about 2 weeks ago. I also completed an identical twin to this one that I was building along at the same time, both were started back in January. These were both scratch built and most of the wood was supplied by the Zootman. I used almost identical sets of Peruvian Walnut for the back and sides, Italian Alpine spruce tops, Ebony finger board, bridge and head plates, Curly Maple necks and bindings on both. Nice...! Both are beauties & so is the P Walnut. 1st one being very Gibsonesque. How do they compare in sound...?

Thaks guys, Yes the first one is Gibsonesque, I only conformed to the idea because I was commissioned to do it that way. As far as how they sound, when I completed them and strung them up for the first time, I used Martin Sp's, They both sounded really similar to each other, beautiful crisp highs and nice mellow bass, they have a bit of booming projection, I believe is due to the Walnut, I then finished the final set ups and adjustments, So I used Martin Lifespans SP's on the one and the Gibby looking one I used Gibson strings by request, That changed the sound a bunch, The Gibson strings made it seem a bit brighter and tintier than the Lifespans, I prefer the Martin strings as always and after playing both instruments, the owner of the Gibby one wants to switch to Martins as well. The Gibson looking one has a Fishman Infinity system installed so he can play out with it. I am very happy with the sound quality of the Walnut and it is becoming an everyday player for me. When played lightly it has a beautiful voice and will stand up to heavy picking and strumming as well. Peruvian Walnut= 2 thumbs up!
