Hi, I just wish to continue from the old forum. I recently had to remove the bridge from an LMI OM
I had made. The edge was lifting . I may have fitted it in too much humidity here in Brisbane which is sub tropical.
Anyway I used John's method with a little trepidation and it worked amazingly well.
Only one small flake of spruce to replace. Thanks again Brian

Re: Replacing Bridge
To take off a glued on bridge , you use a chisel and lightly tap around the bridge. After a few laps , the bridge joint will fail and the bridge comes off pretty clean. Heating bridges off will often stress the glue joint or create finish repairs.
I did regrind a chisel just for this job , I have a very sharp angle on it . The point is to stress the glue joint more than trying to pry it.
I will do a video on this in the near future
