new jig idea
I have been working with Doug Moore and Kevin Waldron for a brace placement jig . We came up with this. It works great and you can use the jig to lay out the notches for the kerfing. I drew out the brace placements placed the braces using the jig and the notches were perfect. We will get the back templates made asap. If you like what you see contact Kevin off his link.

That is pretty wood John. Great idea on the template too. If I was a production shop I'd want one!!

Re: new jig idea
Hey, that's nice looking, for mahogany. Is that typical of honduran, to have that nicely defined light/dark streaky look?
Slowest builder on the forum. These things take time. Apparently.

Re: new jig idea
This is Honduran Rosewood not Mahogany. My test stain make it look like Brazilian. That grain is going to POP

Ooops, my mistake. I think I'm going to need some of that wood, though, and staining seems like a good idea, too.

Re: new jig idea
You would love that. Honduran is a terrific tone wood.
