Search restrictions

Is there a way to loosen the restrictions on search items?

I'm constantly getting the message that the words are too common and as a result it gives me zero results.

I had a question about this earlier and I told the user to add words to his search query to reduce the number of results. Now after reading how the search algorithm works, I'm not sure that was really helpful as it is not the common algorithm of search most people are familiar with.

I will look into this a little further and then try to change restrictions that make sense and also prevent the database server from being overburdened.
