Shell Purfling

Post by David L »

How do you get solid shell strips (not Abalam) to be used for purfling around the body of a guitar to bend around the tight curves without breaking?

I just had my first experience with Ablam in a rosette and it was very easy to use. John Hall has a tutorial on here about using it.

I thought the generlly used technique is to break it into the curves?

I use Chucks stuff , you can get smaller quantities from Custom Pearl they have a banner on the side. I like the stuff and like Running Dog I use abalam as much as I can.
