StewMac String Spacer Ruler
Does anyone have any comment on the use of the StewMac String Spacing Ruler?
I am doing my last order with them for a while and was going to throw one in.
Thanks

I have one used it once. Now I do the math I learned from Bryan Kimsey's website. Easy and works well.

I have one. Love it.
I put semi-permanent marks on it for each nut width I use. Makes setting string spacing a 30 second job.

I have/use one and recommend it, especially if you hate math, like me!

I used the methodology on Brian Kimsey's website as well. A dial claiper (or digital caliper) is all that's needed. Worked great for me.

Thanks guys.
I went out to Brian's website regarding making a nut. Seems easy enough to give it a try.
I can always screw it up and try again.
Part of the fun with this hobby I am finding.

I use a divider or compass. Start 1/8" from each end of the nut/playing surface, and walk a divider down 5 notches. Adjust the gap between the 2 points until you're 5th step is the 1/8" mark on the other side of nut.
So to try to be clearer, mark 1/8" from each end of nut.
Start with point on first mark.
Pivot the entire divider or compass until the other point makes a new mark.
Pivot a total of 5 times, to make marks for 6 strings.
Adjust the gap between the points of the divider until the 5 steps are perfect from your start and stop 1/8" marks.
