Re: starting to spray my brothers parlor guitar.
That rig has been offered in the recent past with an included 1.5mm needle which made for a pretty good deal. I think ultimately I will go for it. I may have to spray the next too with the compressor, but I'm going to try that new HVLP gun and see how it does.
Thanks for your input. Are you spraying in your booth there?

It is my spray booth, but I had to rig up a ventilation fan and bring in a light because my electrician went missing for the last week. It is the last thing that needs to be finished. At least it is a space with a door, out of way.Kevin Sjostrand wrote:That rig has been offered in the recent past with an included 1.5mm needle which made for a pretty good deal. Spraying is going well. I am at 8 coats. I level sanded at four coats with 600 grit.
The sinker redwood is coming to life. There is wierd sparkly patterns in the grain of the wood. I also like how the quilted spanish cedar is looking.

That dark binding really contrasts with the rest of the guitar, it looks great. What is that binding?

Re: Ready to setup my brothers parlor guitar.
I wet sanded and buffed out my brother's parlor guitar. I still have a couple of very minor touch ups to do on the top. I am taking a break to get perspective so the very minor touchups do not end up requiring very major rework.
I used my buffer wheel for the first time. In the process (thanks to a very strong grip) I learned the right way and the wrong ways to buff a guitar. The neck is not sbolted or glued yet, but the neck angle is spot on.
On the last steel string I finished I managed to drop a tool at the very end of the setup. I will see if I learned anything.
The back and sides are quilted Spanish Cedar the top is sinker Redwood.
The Finish is ColorTone water based on Zpoxy fill
The headstock veneer, fingerboard and the bridge and the bindings are ebony.
The pearl is Zipflex.
Thanks for looking.
