I have to say, I love my Rikon. I know it is not the highest end bandsaw, but I use it every day I am in the shop. It is easy to setup, easy to change blades and overall it is not finicky. It just seems ready work whenever I need it. The only time I muck with the setup is if it sounds strange or I need to resaw for a rosette. At that point I carefully set it up.

My final decision will be based on how much $$$ I have to spend, but I really like that saw.

Looks awesome John! One thing I'm wondering though, what are those chisels? They look like either the lie nielsen chisels or Stanley sweetheart chisels.

These are the LN Bevel Edge Socket Chisels. I use these for most of my work. I have a set of LMI paring chisels as well. I rounded the bevel on a 14mm chisel and use it a lot for brace carving.

Nearly ready to close the box. I have the back fit into the body and top is finished. I marked out where I need to cut the rebates for the top braces. I was going to push on tonight but thought it is best to call it a night. I got to use my mini die grinder from Blues Creek to cut the rebates. It was fun to have a light narrow tool use. It cut like a dream, it is easy to see around and it does not block light. For the first time ever the back fit in one try after I marked and cut the rebates and trimmed the braces.

Parlor guitar, is that like single O sized? The body appears to be 12 fret?

Yes this is a 1906 Martin O style 12 fret guitar. I really like this size guitar. My dred is 14 fret but I like the sound and the position of the bridge in the center of the lower bout that the 12 fret guitars have. ALso I play classical and we would be lost without the body to tell us where the 12 fret is. Most of the people I have been making guitars for never leave the first position so the ease of getting the higher frets does not really do much for them.

I have been starting to see some 12 fret dreds.

I have a 12 fret dread in my line-up, possibly no.5.

I tried that Tony in my house...the room right next to my wife's quilting room, I said, "honey, I could put an open window between the rooms so we can visit while we work"....she didn't go for it.
