Bob it does look great. I know what you mean about store bought. My test is people do not ask if I made it myself on first sight. After a couple of days mine is getting a slight bow as well.

If you have only turned the truss bar a 1/4 turn you should be able to give it another 1/4 and see what happens. Of cource I mainly have had classical guitars that do not have truss rods.

I've emailed you and John about what I'm facing now. With the truss rod at neutral, I fretted at the 1st fret and the last fret. Looking for spacing under the 7th fret of .005". Mine was at .020".
I tightened it up about 1/4 turn and it's at about .013". I'm afraid to go further.
What can I do there? Will I damage it by continuing? I'll need a pipe to add to the allen wrench as it's killing my hand already.
Mayday!!

Bob, I'll check to John...I'm not doing well tonight and I may be over looking something, it sure wouldn't be the first time..
but remember you won't get it all at once, it takes time. No cheat pipes no matter how tempting it is :) your adding tension now, release the string pressure...(I know it's a pain and time consuming) let it set to settle in for a day W/O string tension...re-tune, check...need more, de-tune...tighten a 1/4 let it sit...and so on...go s-l-o-w-l-y or you'll over-ride your target and have to go the other way again AND you can throw a twist in the neck if you try to tighten too much at a time....OR strip the threads or break the rod...NOT good!

Hope that makes sense. It's a guess and by gosh you have to learn the feel of and it all comes with practice, but it can sure be aggravating at first.

It should be easier to turn when allowed to rest and conform to each NEW adjustment...you really can't adjust the neck under pressure. Just my .02 =:)

Excellent advice. I had kept tension on it while trying to turn.
I'll undo the tension let it rest and Sunday try 'er again.
Much appreciated, Ray.

Great looking guitar, Bob! Nice to see it in all its red metal flake glory! You must be elated with how it turned out. Congrats again!

Regarding the truss rod, you can help coax the neck along by inducing some backbow while you are working the truss rod. Just make sure you move the truss rod in small increments.

Bob,Bob, that is a beautiful guitar. You should have no problem spraying your next acoustic.
