ahh, heat gun I shall use....and, I am going to get that new bit too!
I really like the tap tone I'm getting from this redwood top. I have another one from the same billet.....so if this guitar turns out sounding really good, I might want to continue to use redwood, if I don't have problems with working it.

Another little trick that Rick showed me.
Even if you use 'safe' tape and shellac, as an added insurance against pulling up fibers when peeling tape off of a top is to use a heat gun to warm the tape up a bit to soften the adhesive a bit before you pull.

Redwood intrigues me......one person stated it has the snap of spruce and the warmth of cedar. Too much to try and too little time.......
