Is there a site that lists all the dimensions of the different Martin body shapes? For example, I can't find the waist dimension on a dreadnaught or 000. The body length and lower bout width are listed on the Martin site. MIMF has a chart that shows the upper bout width (I assume it is correct). However, I can't find the width at the waist for any body style.
Thanks!

Re: Martin Body Dimensions
actually those are not 100% correct . Some are and some arn't but it is close enough. The 000 and OM are actually 15 3/6 at the lower bout.

Re: Martin Body Dimensions
From various sources - template makers, Martin sites etc - I found the waist measurements for slope dred to be either 10 1/2, 10 3/4 or 11 inches.
Dana Bourgeois builds one with a 10 1/4 inch waist.
Also, you can download a freebie program called GThang, which allows you to enter the variables you do know, and then shows a representation of the instrument with a workable variable for, say the waist measurement, that you can change and watch the outline change in real time. Gives you a great feel for proportions etc.

Re: Martin Body Dimensions
If I need any dimension for "any" instrument guitar or other --I go to the dealer and take the measurements myself ---- otherwise ask twenty makers and you'll get about twenty different answers (internet -- good luck!). For the common brands this just seems so simple to me. Shame on me but I have actually purchased and returned instruments from Musician's Friend (for one) with the sole intent of scaling it. Again if it matters I want it correct. $.02

Re: Martin Body Dimensions
Dave, too bad they don't show a waist measurement!
Ken has a good point, maybe measuring the waist myself would be best. Too bad I don't own a a Martin Dreadnaught. A friend at work has one so maybe he can measure the waist for me. He is a talented woodworker so will measure carefully. I can take the 000 waist measurement from a 000 mold I bought from Ken which should be good. Well heck, I bought a Dreadnaught mold from John Hall so I could measure that! <slaps forehead and feels stupid>
