I really like this trend away from under-the-bridge piezos, and since I have not used any of the new triple transducer systems (K&K, etc.) I have a question: Do these new systems have the same rubber-band boing-boing sound as under saddle ones? This sound is often apparent even through a high quality impedance matching direct box or preamp, and I do not like it one bit.
Please tell me that the boing-boing is gone. I want to follow Guitar Hack's lead and remove the piezo from beneath my bridge.

Re: Amplification
I get no quack from the JJB 3 transducer system.....to me it sounds just like the guitar unplugged, only louder.

Re: Amplification
There are many very impressive under saddle systems $$$$$ and there is junk as well. I would suggest that amplification of an acoustic guitar for live professional performance is an art form unto itself. The pick-up is just the first link, personally I believe a (clean) pre-amp is a must, along with an on board EQ and lastly an appropriate combo amp that also has EQ Under saddle or patch pick-up both are contact devices that are converting vibrations to electrical signals (Crystal movement). So keeping that signal clean, accurate and "pleasing" is all part of the process. $.02

Re: Amplification
There are plenty of great pick up systems. I like the one Laurence Juber uses. I will email him and see if he will let us know .

Re: Amplification
here is what Laurence is using
All my stage guitars have a DTAR Wavelength UST with a custom Audix internal omni mic (in front of the X-brace pointing toward the soundhole)
both running through the DTAR 18v endpin preamp.
Headway blending pre-amp/DI
Mogami cable
Otherwise I'll use a Neumann KM140 mic.
