Glue type

OK, I'm gluing in my first rosette. It's rosewood, abalone and black fiber. What type of glue to use? Also, if I use different rosette combos in the future (which I'm sure I will) does one glue fit all? Thanks.

If you have a perfect fit, go with Duco Cement. It wont swell the wood and cause fit issues when you try to glue it in. If you have a teeny tiny bit of space around the rosette, use Titebond because it WILL swell the wood and make the fit tighter and eliminate tiny gaps and leave fewer gaps to fill later.
You can always use Titebond, HHG, or anything else for all rosettes, but certain glues will fit the bill better for different types of rosettes. If you use CA, make sure to seal the rosette channel and the surrounding wood with shellac or lacquer prior to gluing to prevent discoloration of the soft wood top.

Thanks guys. I actually had the Duco out and then had one of those moments when a little voice said, "measure twice, cut once." So I figured I better double check. Here's a pic. The top is Sinker Redwood (B/S will be EIR). As I said the rosette is abalone/rosewood/abalone. Thanks again.
