Any thoughts on this technique? Anyone tried it?

I have heard of it and Fender does it . There was an article at Stew Mac on Fenders method. Maybe someone will know that article

I may be wrong, but I don't think they do it anymore. I need to read through a couple of my books...one on fretting, and the other on setup/repair that discusses it.

I see some electrics builders getting great results with it, just wondering whether it's worth giving it a go...
