A bridge is an outside brace and that is a bit minimalist . Interesting but may not be very functional.

Sorry guys, I like it. I like the shape, I like the wood, I like the originality. It should cross the x-braces, of course, I have no idea if this one does, but that is not the reason I took to it.

It's too "out there" for me, but I am tired of the Martin shape. The bloodwood is nice though and if it were less fat in the center and a hair or two longer, I would be carving one myself.

Sooo... if I'm hearing you correctly the width of the bridge, i.e. covering the X braces, is what this bridge is missing?

I'm with Dave, looks pretty cool to me. I'm just a little lost on the functionality part.

Yep -- normally the outboard wings/sides of the bridge tie into the lower bout legs of the "X" brace:

I have read several "opinions" on how bearclaw affects the tonal quality, strength, longevity, only older trees, and only slow growing trees with a bazillion lines per inch. some say it's good and some say it's not. I like it 'cause it looks really cool!

Very interesting shape, but I too think it would look better sttttrrrreeeetttchhhhhed out a bit.
I am a fan of bearclaw, and the guitar I used it on seems to growl now and then.
