Dying an Ebony Bridge

Post by Darryl Young »

I have an ebony, pyramid bridge that is more of a dark choclate than black. Which dyes work to blacken it? Will it still buff out nice after dying? Does it still look like real ebony?

I use Feibings dye , this is good stuff. Stew Mac has it .

I suggest you wear gloves , this stuff made ebony out of my MDF workbench top.

OK, I'll bet I can get that at Tandy Leather company. They are local (if they are still in business).

After dying with Feibings, does it buff to a nice finish? Does it look like a normal, black ebony bridge that is buffed?

yes it buffs well . I will prep the board to 600 grit then 0000 steel wool . The better it looks before you dye , the better it will look after
