I am the proud owner of #147. We don't get much to cheer about in the winter time in Canada except for snow so getting this beautiful Hog amidst the blizzards was really uplifting. I'm not big into bling so this understated beauty was just what I needed. Excellent sitka top with gorgeous ribbon mahogany. The fit and finish is perfect. It looks great but sounds even better. No over the top bass here as this is an extremely well balanced instrument. It has Strong mids and crisp and clear trebles and man is this D-18 LOUD. It has a huge voice and can cut through the mix effortlessly. I can just imagine how this guitar is going to open up in the next six months. It's definitely a winner in my books. All of this combined with the added feature of Hot Hide Glue and Fish Glue in the construction of this hand made guitar makes this one of the best musical purchases I have ever made. John Hall is a treasure to this Forum and an exceptionally talented luthier and I want to thank him for giving me the opportunity to purchase this wonderful instrument. This guitar is going to get played. Ed
