Richlite is very much like ebony, even black color and works like ebony. I used a bridge of richlite on a d-18 style guitar I finished in January, and must admit it looks great and the guitar's tone absolutely hasn't suffered, imho. I am now going to use a fingerboard -- a Martin castoff and have no concerns about using it.
