Ah ha John, no peeking in Santa's workshop!!
When there is spare time, that might be a great idea for next year!!!!
I'm going to begin my OM crossover soon, perhaps on New Year's Day!

Dueling Drednaughts, maybe the Battle of Jutland II,
No matter how it ends both builds look like they're going to be winners.

Carving some back braces with my wooden hand plane and my curved two cherries chisel. Oh yeah!

Amid having the flu, I got the top braced and carved this weekend, ready to fit to the rims and glue.

Re: A new one started today...another Drednaught
As I was getting over the first bout of infection, I got the flu, and of course my wife followed, so being sick for over 3 weeks now not much has been accomplished. I thought I'd have the box closed and be started on my crossover by now. Oh well.
I used cut offs from the back for my inside side bracing, crossing the grain. They look good, blend in and should prevent a crack spread. I've always used spruce, but I might switch over to this method as I like the look better.
The back is fitted to notches and ready to glue down, and the top is done, fitted to notches and ready. So this week I should get it closed up.
