Hey everyone how's it going. It's been a while since I've posted.
I have a problem. I have a Delta 22-540 planer. I know we don't use planers much when building guitars but I know that some of the members of this forum also do general woodworking in addition to building guitars. I NEED to change the blades. The problem is that I can't find the blade alignment tool (part# 1343917) that came with the unit, furthermore I can't find a company that has one in stock and the backorder time estimates are off the chart. I need to run a hundred or so bd ft through this planer soon as it is part of an estate and my name is not on the list to recieve it.
Does anybody know where I can purchase one? borrow one?, steal one? I would be willing to do most anything to get my hands on one of these tools!
Any other suggestions?
Thanks Guys,
David L

Re: Planer problem
You could use the tail on a dial caliper to set the blades the same height off the drum.
You never know what you are capable of until you actually try....
