Glad that the plans got there so quickly.
I built two benders with these plans. The first was light bulb heated and the second uses a heater blanket I got from John Hall.
I've always thought that plans are a starting point and the path depends on what materials I had on hand. So my benders look kind of like the plans, but with less springs and more clamps.

Sorry its taking me so long to get the plans back out. My son has been in the hospital for a surgery so I've been spending most of my days at Johns Hopkins. The plans are ready to go out , I just need to make it to the post office while it is still open.

Absolutely no problem. Take care of him.
My wife had back surgery about 2 weeks ago, and we've been dealing with that. I haven't touched any guitar wood in that time. :(

I won't be needing the plans afterall, I'm all most done building my bender based on the plans in the Jim Williams book with some modifications. After Bob, they can go to someone else.
I'll have some pictures to show it off soon.

plans were sent today. I have the basic frame of the bender made up. Have to make up a form and attachments for the press screw. I ordered a press screw from wetzler clamps a few weeks ago and have not recieved it yet. Also have had no luck contacting them by e mail or phone. Has anyone dealt with them before? what kind of luck have you had with them?

I got my press screw off Amazon, it is a Shop Fox 11" and it was $13, and free shipping.

Gave up on wetzler and ordered the press screw from amazon. Thanks for the suggestion Kevin. I actually ordered both the 12" and 9"(for the cutaway ram) from wetzler if they don't show I'll write it up as a lesson learned.

I made one of the blocks clamping down the bouts, mounted the springs, and it works great. I did however realize that I might want to alter my main frame. If you've seen the one in Jim Williams book, the sides of the frame are angled from the tower kind of high, and with the mold in place, the bout clamp can't be started up close to the waist clamp area. The Fox design lowers this part of the frame and curves it too to allow for more access with the bout clamp. Make sense? Anyway, I may disassemble mine (all screwed together) and re-cut this area on the sides.
When I have this machine done, I'll start a new thread and post pictures.
