Thank you for posting this. I have been trying to make up my mind about scrapping my beater guitar now that the new top has split. As the article on re-topping a guitar asks: "is it worth it?" Not any more.

Hi John,
Thanks for posting the pdf.
Back in 1978 or 79 I put in a order to Allied Traders of Miami (Hartt Huttig). On my list was some "German Spruce" soundboards. I received a phone call from Hartt suggesting that he could send me the german but I probably wouldn't like it. He sent me two very nice Englemann tops for the price of the german spruce. I still haven't used them so they should be well seasoned by now.

I've got an original set of Stringed Instrument Craftman 1 through 14 except for # 4 I'll sell for $50 + mailing cost. PM me. I'll list it down below too.
