Easy finish removal under bridge

For me, finishing is easiest if I do not mask off the bridge. To alleviate the ensuing very careful and (for me) time consuming scraping off the finish under the bridge, I make a template from thin durable material - in this case one of the pendeflex files my wife uses to file bills and other unimportant stuff - tape it down in the correct spot and just sand off the finish. Takes about 15 seconds and gets me right up to the line of the bridge contour.
Not a 'bright' idea, but dang, it makes my life easier.

Tony - as the saying goes: " I wear the pants in this family. But my wife tells me which ones to put on."

I usually say; "Yeah well, I was going to pick those pants anyway."

nice tip, and make sure that tape stays in place...
