Re: My second Violin!!!
Well I missed some photos but I am moving along on this one.
The scroll is basically done. Peg box is done. Neck shaping is started.
Here the neck has been fit and is being glued onto the corpus. The fingerboard is also fit to the neck. The stick on the fingerboard helps set the correct projection angle and centering the fingerboard.
Next I'll install the saddle......

Re: My second Violin!!!
Hey hey it sounds like a violin.
Next step is to put on a finish.
I'm thinking maybe just clear oil varnish on this one so the color and grain of the redwood and pearwood can show through.

Re: My second Violin!!!
So I have put 7 coats of clear oil varnish on. No color so the wood color and grain shows through.
I like it. It will dry for another week then I'll wet sand and polish and reassemble.
I tried to attach pictures but get an error "sorry board attachment limit has been reached"
Hmmmm???

Okay here is the #2 violin with Bout 8 coats of clear oil varnish. I have begin to level sand it and I polished a small area on the back. I think it's going to lookvery neat.
When I have it assembled again I'll post some pics
